Official name stuff
[edit]Hi Black Tusk...in future, please always check the "Find Location" search in the provincial basemap at http://maps.gov.bc.ca, as any official form of a name will be in there. I'll come back with the Canada Geonames Database link, too, but that should google easily. For anything stateside, the http://www.topozone.com site has a full USGS names index built-in, but searching is a little limited there because of, e.g. "Mount XXXX" you have to know is "Mount XXXX" instead of "XXXX Mountain" or "XXXX Peak", as it searches only for whole strings/words, or for names only beginning with a certain word. Other than that, it's exhaustive.Skookum1 19:47, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
